Celebrating Ten Years and Looking Forward with Hope…and Action

Our tenth anniversary year has already been an eventful one and we’re busier than ever. The past ten years have brought us to a place I never could have imagined when I launched RENEWPR on January 23, 2015. We have helped nearly 50 clients on a variety of campaigns, programs and projects focused on energy, environment and equity. We work with a team of seven independent PR professionals from across the country. We have built a network of a half dozen agencies that we partner with on client projects. We helped launch The Change Agencies, the nation’s inclusive PR agency network.  And we added an agency COO (my wonderful husband, Mark Pimble) to our team. We have a lot to celebrate.

But, but, but. The world in 2025 is also an increasingly challenging place. Celebrating a business anniversary now might seem a bit, well, tone deaf. So, we put the celebration party we had planned for late January on hold.

Now, our celebration is back on, but with a twist. For us, there is no way we can celebrate our anniversary without also acknowledging what’s happening in Washington (our hometown) and around the country: we can’t just throw a party without using it as an opportunity to put our values into action and do some good. We have to “give people hope” as Harvey Milk instructed us more than 40 years ago.

In the context of our 10th anniversary celebration, hope means action and putting our money where our mouths are. So we’re celebrating with purpose by partnering with a former client, Family Equality, an established, respected LGBTQ+ nonprofit organization that continues to advocate for equality now, when such advocacy is more important than ever.

At our invitation-only party next month, we’ll look back at our accomplishments and look forward to the work that must continue. We’re proud to have worked with Family Equality in support of the introduction of the John Lewis Every Child Deserves A Family Act and we’re delighted to take this opportunity to spotlight the work they continue to do to advance LGBTQ+ family equality.
