#FourYearsFourCommitments
Time flies when you’re having fun. It’s been four years since I launched RENEWPR on January 23, 2015. Since then, I’ve celebrated each business anniversary by highlighting the people and issues I’ve been fortunate enough to work with and on over the years.
In the first two years, I celebrated our business anniversary with an evening reception (and I even posted my playlist from the second anniversary party). In the third year, I focused on giving back (with financial contributions) to three causes that related to our work on energy, environment and LGBT issues. This year, I’m continuing the theme of giving back with #FourYearsFourCommitments. In honor of our four years in business, I’m giving back to four organizations focused on the same topics by providing 10 hours of pro bono services to each organization this year.
The energy, environment and LGBTQ organizations I’ve selected for #FourYearsFourCommitments are:
Alliance to Save Energy – I’ll be working with nation’s premiere energy efficiency advocacy organization to help promote their EE Global conference in Washington this June (sign up here) and other communications and event assistance.
Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES) – I’ll working with of the nation’s premiere climate NGOs to help promote their Climate Leadership Conference (where I’ll also be moderating a panel) and other communications and event assistance.
OutServe-SLDN – I’ll be working with the nation’s largest and oldest LGBTQ advocacy organization for servicemembers, veterans and their families to help boost engagement online and support general communications efforts. Full Disclosure: I’m a member of the Board of Directors.
TBA – I’ll be providing pro bono communications assistance to a national organization as part of an exciting new initiative launching later this year. Watch this space for updates!
I’ll share an update on each of these projects in follow-up blog posts, so watch this space. For now, I hope you’ll check out these worthwhile organizations and support them in any way you can – with a donation, by following them on Twitter and/or by liking their Facebook and LinkedIn pages.
As I noted last year, I’m so fortunate to work with these and other leading organizations in the energy, environment and LGBTQ communities. I’m convinced that a big part of our continued success is the excellent relationships we’ve forged – sometimes over years – with the people who lead these and other groups. Working in partnership with the smart folks who take the lead on policy and practice to make the world a better place is both an honor and a privilege. And it’s a great way to mark an anniversary, too!
